> Using Your Inhaler
To use your puffer correctly:

evo 1 STEP ONE
Take the cap off the mouthpiece - just squeeze the sides of the cap and gently pull.
evo 2 STEP TWO
Hold the puffer upright. Shake well.
evo 3 STEP THREE
Put the mouthpiece between your teeth (without biting!) and close your lips around it. Breathe out slowly and gently through the puffer, but do not empty your lungs.
evo 4 STEP FOUR
Tilt your head back slightly. As you start to breathe in slowly and steadily through your mouth, press down firmly on the top of the can.
evo 5

STEP FIVE
Continue to breathe in slowly and deeply. Remove the puffer from your mouth and hold your breath for as long as possible (about 10 seconds). Then breathe out gently. If you are taking a second puff, repeat steps 2 to 5. Put the cap back on your puffer and click it into place. Remember to rinse your mouth with water after using your puffer.

Remember the difference:
Your reliever medication provides quick relief during an asthma episode, and your preventer medication controls the underlying inflammation so that you're less likely to experience these symptoms in the first place.
