The Asthma Council Malaysia (ACM) is the country's only professional body dedicated to raising awareness about asthma and treatment for asthma.

The role of ACM is to lead in:
•educating doctors to raise the level of patient care
• providing sufficient disease education to patients
• fostering patient advocacy groups in the future.

The views of ACM are as follows:
• Asthma is a serious disease that requires long-term treatment.
• People with asthma need access to reliable information and good education on asthma and how to manage it.
• People with asthma must work together with their doctors for more effective asthma management.
• Proper management will allow people with asthma to live quality lives that are free from symptoms.
